Dr. Clem Bowman, who sadly passed away on October 7, 2021, had extensive private and public sector experience in the development and commercialization of new technologies, providing a foundation for his role as Chairman of the Board of ProGrid Ventures Inc.

Before starting ProGrid, Dr. Bowman was vice-president, Esso Petroleum Canada, founding chairman, Alberta Oil Sands Technology and Research Authority (AOSTRA), president, Alberta Research Council (ARC), and research manager, Syncrude Canada Limited.

He also served in an executive role with the Canadian Research Management Association, the Chemical Institute of Canada and the
Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering, and was an active contributor to the Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE).

He was a Senior Advisor at the Bowman Centre for Technology Commercialization at the University of Western Ontario Research Park, Sarnia/Lambton Campus.

His association with remarkable people over the past 50 years defined two intersecting career paths, Energy and ProGrid:

Energy

Building on experiences with Esso, Syncrude, AOSTRA, ARC and CAE, a pathway has been defined to make Canada a Sustainable Environmentally Sound Energy Superpower.

The following may challenge you to help make this a reality.
ProGrid

An Evaluation Methodology developed by Canadian research managers. The underlying two-dimensional concept arose in the AOSTRA years, and has evolved as an important decision-making management tool that explores the importance of Intangibles.

The following will explain the power and versatility of this methodology.
