The Alberta Government issued a call for proposals for the economic and environmentally sound disposal of used tires. The Consultant and a colleague were asked by Alberta Environment to review a number of the proposals which involved incineration or pyrolysis of both shredded and whole tires. The Consultants met with each Proponent to evaluate the concepts, and also visited incineration and pyrolysis facilities in the United States. The economic and environmental attributes of each proposal were compared and summarized in a report "The Tire Project", July 1992, which was released to the public.
