The Lewis Research Group (LRG) is led by Professor Mark Lewis, Senior Canada Research Chair in Mathematical Biology at the University of Alberta.

The LRG works on mathematical problems in spatial ecology.  Our research is interdisciplinary and involves a variety of approaches, ranging from analysis of nonlinear mathematical models to field work.  Some of us are in the lab in Biological Sciences and others work in the Centre for Mathematical Biology which is in Mathematical and Statistical Sciences at the University of Alberta.

Interested in joining the lab?

I am looking to recruit graduate students who work at the interface of mathematics and ecology. I am particularly interested in applicants that have external funding (eg. NSERC) but will consider outstanding applicants regardless of funding. The lab is truly interdisciplinary. Students can be enrolled in either the Math/Stat or Biological Sciences Departments, or can be Interdisciplinary.

If you are interested, please send a covering letter, your CV and a sample of your written work to mark.lewis@ualberta.ca
