Getting there
Once you arrive at the Edmonton International Airport, there are
several ways to reach the city:

Airport
taxi: the ride takes about 30 minutes; the fare is
approximately $55.

Bus
747 takes you to Century Park, from where you can take LRT
(metro) to campus or downtown. Fare: $5. You would need to buy a
separate ticket for LRT.
- Sky Shuttle
goes from the airport to several Edmonton hotels. Fare: $18.
Within Edmonton, one may travel by
LRT (metro), bus, or taxi. There
are two LRT stops on campus: University is closer to the
conference venue and Campus Tower hotel, while Health
Sciences/Jubilee is closer to Student
Residencies. There are several LRT stops in downtown as well.
Local attractions:
- There are several parks with hiking trails within walking distance
from campus: River Valley, Hawrelak Park, Walterdale Park, Whitemud
Park, Whitemud Creek Ravine, Mill Creek Ravine, Victoria Park.
- Edmonton City Centre (downtown) is within walking distance from
campus; it can also be easily reached by LRT. City Centre
attractions include Art Gallery, Winspear Centre (which is the home
to Edmonton's symphony orchestra), Citadel Theatre, City Hall,
Canada Place, Churchill Square, City Centre Shopping Mall, and
Rogers Place Hockey Arena (currently under construction).
- Whyte Avenue is a touristic area with numerous shops, restaurants,
and bars, located withing walking distance from campus.
- Muttart Conservatory is a botanical garden, located at the northen
end of Mill Creek Ravine.
- West Edmonton Mall - a major shopping centre, which for several
years used to be the largest shopping centre in the world. Besides
shops, it has a skating rink, an amusement park with rides
(Galaxyland), a waterpark with slides and artificial waves, a lagoon
with a replica of on Santa Maria ship, etc.
Canadian Rockies
Edmonton is located within easy reach from magnificent Rocky
Mountains. One may combine a trip to Positivity with a vacation in
the Rockies before or after the conference.
