ANNOUNCEMENTS

  1. The text "Introduction to Fluid Mechanics" by R.W. Fox, P.J. Pritchard, and A.T. McDonald (7th edition, Wiley) is available at the bookstore and can also be purchased from Wiley directly at www.wileybookstore.com/ucsb.

    There are three options for the book: the binder ready, the regular text and WileyPLUS code, which is the entire text online along with animations and online problems. Also, there is a desktop edition of their text, which is just the etext from www.wiley.com/go/engineeringvalue.

    Please note that TA office hours are held in the Engineering TA Trailer located on the grass behind Engineering II

  3. Students are responsible for bringing exam booklets ("blue books") to both the midterm exams and final exam.

  4. On Tuesday, Nov 24th there will not be any lecture or office hours (I am travelling for a conference), but rather a discussion of the midterm and problems related to homework 6. Students can also pick up their midterm papers, along with any old assignments.

  5. There will be no TA office hours on Wed, Nov 25, and Thurs, Nov 26.

  6. TA office hours during finals week:

    Mitchel Craun: Monday, Dec. 7: 4:00-7:00pm

    Jason Martyn: Tuesday, Dec. 8: 3:00-5:00pm

    Homework #6 as well as any other old assignments/midterms are available to be picked up during these hours.

  7. The final exam will be on Dec. 9th from 8:00-11:00 am in the usual location, Buchanan 1930.

  8. Final exams are marked and the final marks have been submitted. The average on the final exam was 73% with a best mark of 100% and a lowest mark of 35%. The final class average for the entire course was also 73% with a best mark of 93% and a lowest mark of 41.3% (before curving.)
