HOMEWORK: Homework is assigned each week and due the next Thursday in class.

GRADING: Your grade in this course is based on homework, one midterm
and one final. I use the following formula to calculate your total score
       max(20% homework + 30% mid + 50% final,
           30% mid + 70% final)
In English, I will take the sum of 20% homework, 30% midterm and 50%
final or the sum of 30% midterm and 70% final, whichever is higher, as
your total score. Your course grade is determined by a curve. 

EXAMS: No books, notes and calculators are allowed in exams. You
should bring a photo ID to all exams.
