It is not too late to transfer (even after the Sept. 10 deadline has past, although it is easiest before then). Perhaps you could encourage such students to come to talk to me in CAB 521. There have often been a few students who were misled that Math 117 is intended only for Honours Math students, or that their grades would suffer as a result. In fact, the policy of our honours program when handing out grades is not to penalize students for taking a more challenging course. In past years, some students learned about our honours courses too late and ended up transferring to Math 118 only in January, after doing very well in Math 114. Clearly it would be much better for them to make the transfer now rather than waiting until January. The class schedule for Math 117 this year is M W F 10:00-10:50 CME 345 R 13:00-13:50 CME 345 Thank you in advance for your efforts (in the past, this annoucement has really made a difference in the quality of students enrolling in our honours math courses).
