I got my Bachelor's degree (2001) and `Licenciatura' (2002)
from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú.
Then I came to the University of Alberta for graduate studies.
Here I did my Master of Science in Mathematics (2005)
under the supervision of
Byron Schmuland,
and very recently I completed the doctoral program under the supervision of
Alexander Litvak and
Nicole Tomczak-Jaegermann.
Research
I investigate estimates for the smallest singular value of large random matrices
that may contain some entries with very small variances, or even null entries.
This research fits within the broader context of Random Matrix Theory,
and gains vitality from a nice interplay between Probability Theory and
Geometric Functional Analysis.
