Annual Report 2007-2008

This was an active and productive year for the Centre.  Existing multi-disciplinary projects moved forward and matured, many receiving new funding. The number of research papers published almost doubled from last year to 41.  Major educational initiatives included an International Graduate Training Centre (IGTC), funded by the Pacific Institute for Mathematical Sciences (PIMS) and the Undergraduate Summer Workshop in Mathematical Biology.

The Centre was home to 11 graduate students, eight Postdoctoral Fellows/Research Associates, three core faculty, and many affiliated faculty.  Collaborations through the Centre flourished with federal and provincial governments, Mathematics in Information Technology and Complex Systems (MITACS), NSERC networks, NGOs, industry, academic researchers within the campus, and academic researchers worldwide.
