Add colour to an xterm
In order to enable your xterm on sirius to display colours you should put the
following lines in your ".cshrc" file.
setenv TERM xterm-color
Then, the next time you log on to sirius, the output of the "ls" command, for
example, will be colour-coded so that directories will be displayed in blue,
symbolic links will be displayed in magenta, and so on.
These settings are also required to allow vim to display files in colour.
