October 1, 2001, Joseph.So@ualberta.ca (Updated November, 10 2001) This is how it works at least for the rest of today. :-) There was some (major) changes done today so I need to update the info again. Here is how the mailing lists (should) work now: mathprofs@math.ualberta.ca => All math professors and FSOs statprofs@math.ualberta.ca => All stat professors and FSOs profs@ => All mathprofs, statprofs and faclec (faulty lecturers) mathpostdocs@ => All math postdocs statpostdocs@ => All stat postdocs postdocs@ => Both lists (all postdocs) mathgrads@ => All math grads statgrads@ => All stat grads grads => Both lists (all grads) mathretired@ => All math retired statretired@ => All stat retired retired@ => All retired (both lists) sessionals@ => sessionals, only one group. fso@ => FSOs, only one group. faclec@ => Faculty Lecturers, only one group academic_staff@ => profs@ + fso@ + sessionals@ + faclec@ office@ => All office staff + Barkley + Scott compc@ => Computing comittee mailing list, STATIC LIST maintained by joso In Netscape mail, you can choose whatever e-mail address you want. The e-mail addresses: yourloginname@stat.ualberta.ca or yourloginname@math.ualberta.ca are equivalent. Use whichever one that makes more sense to you. For those who want to verify the validity of the computer generated lists, ssh to mailbox.math.ualberta.ca then cd /etc/mail and all the lists are there for your inspection.
