As of Fall 2008, there is an honors alternative to the usual linear algebra courses MATH 120 and 125: MATH 127. It relates to MATH 120/125 in the same way MATH 117 and
118 relate to MATH 113/114 and 115. The topics covered are essentially the same, but more emphasis is put on theory and the conceptual underpinnings of the material.
Starting in Fall 2009, there will also be a sequel to MATH 127: MATH 227 (Honors Linear Algebra II), which is the honors alternative to MATH 225.
With the Fall term 2009, those honors programs in mathematics that have hitherto required MATH 125 and 225 will require MATH 127 and 227.
