SINGULARITY INDUCREFLECTION AND TRANSMISSION OF PLANE
WAVES AT AN INTERFACE BETWEEN
ELASTIC AND MICROPOLAR
THERMOELASTIC DIFFUSION MEDIA

Abstract. The present investigation is concerned with the study of reflection and transmission phenomenon due to longitudinal and transverse waves at a plane interface between isotropic elastic solid half-space and micopolar thermoelastic di usion half space. It is found that reflections and transmission coecients are functions of angle of incidence, frequency of the incident wave and are in uenced by the elastic properties of the media. Closed form expressions of amplitudes ratio and energy ratios are derived. Numerical computations have been performed for a particular model and the obtained results are depicted graphically against the angle of incident. It is verified that during transmission there is no dissipation of energy at the interface. From the present investigation, a special case of interest is also deduced to depict the effect of micropolarity.
